Hello. I'm Jill Lukens. I am a special educator and reading specialist with over 20 years of teaching experience in helping children and their families learn and grow to their true potential. I like to look at each situation through a creative, positive, and well-informed lens to find a unique way to help achieve each child's specific goals. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, skiing, and learning new things.
Jill Lukens, M.Ed. is a special educator with a Bachelor's degree in Education and Special Education and a Master's degree in Literacy. Jill is also a Certified Orton Gillingham Instructor, Certified Reading Specialist and Consultant, Certified Early Elementary Teacher, Certified Elementary Teacher, and Certified Autism-Informed Professional. Jill has extensive experience teaching students with a range of skills in both private and public school settings. She works to pinpoint specific skills that each student will benefit from strengthening to help inspire a true love of learning.
Skills that Jill has expertise in strengthening: executive function skills. reading comprehension, fluency and accuracy skills, written expression, spelling, and syntax, as well as math, problem-solving, and computation accuracy and fluency skills.
